We have noticed over the years that the standard folding attic stairs is not ideal in some situations. Where high ceilings are involved the user would almost need a stepladder to unfold the attic stairs due to the height involved. The springs used to hold the stairs in place can cause problems for some as they need to be quiet strong to hold the stairs in place. Automating the stairs solves all these problems because technology does all the work for you.

The Stiramatic continues Stira’s commitment to quality; we have used our years of experience developing our standard range of attic stairs to make an automatic stairs that is even more robust than our Original Stira. We have continued that tradition in the electronics of the stairs to the point the electronics are intelligent enough to detect obstructions so that if the user was to accidently get their fingers in the way of the trapdoor closing it will recognise that and stop the operation of the stairs.

We have made every effort to consider the customer during design. We know that some homes require access to the attic even in the event of a power failure, access to the attic may even be required to fix the power outage, therefore we provide a battery backup for the stairs that will allow it to be opened even during a power cut*.

*battery backup will only open the stairs it does not have enough power to close the trapdoor.

Available in ceiling heights between 7ft and 10ft. Higher ceilings will become available soon.

Minimum frame width 26”
Maximum frame width 36”

Minimum frame length 64” frame length is dictated by the ceiling height when ordering online the website will show frame length options relevant to your ceiling height.
